A simple speed bump energy harvester

Abstract As the nation progresses, energy demand increases. The generation of electricity in Malaysia is currently from natural gas, crude oil and petroleum, coal coke, hydro other renewable sources. Depletion non-renewable sources excessive carbon emissions are significant concerns. Any effort to mitigate, however small, worth considering. In this study, harvesting speed bumps proposed a roller bump harvester (SBEH) was conceived. From theoretical analysis, SBEH can produce power output 1632.92 W when car 850 kg crosses with 10 km/h. primary driving force for velocity secondary contributor weight vehicle. Greater mass results greater harvest. Future work will look further into its feasibility, examine challenges installation, perform size optimization proof-of-concept prototype.
